Five-point agreement ends decades of transport syndicate



Transport entrepreneurs and the government reached a five point agreement to end decades of syndicate in public transport. Following the agreement, transport entrepreneurs have withdrawn their protests.

Police investigation in the shooting of religious leader Acharya Sriniwas Investigation has shown that the Acharya had hired his shooters to shoot him on his hands.

Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli has said Nepal's national security has reached the advanced level. Addressing the 17th anniversary function of the National Security Council Secretariat here today, the Prime Minister said the country has at present reached an advanced stage in terms of the overall security and national self-esteem, even at the citizen's level. 


Modi plans three 'surprise gifts' for Nepal


During his two-day state visit to Nepal starting May 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will announce three separate "surprise gifts" for Kathmandu, Janakpur and Muktinath Temple. He will announce one of the gifts on May 11 in Janakpur. Janakpur is poised to join India's Ramayan Circuit, according to the Kathmandu Post.


President honors five journalists


President Bidya Devi Bhandari has honored five journalists with award and prizes at a function held to mark the 'National Journalism Day, 2075' today. At the function organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology at the Office of the President in Sheetal Niwas, President Bhandari presented the 'National Journalism Prize' to former President of Federation of Nepali Journalists Dr Mahendra Bista and journalist Dr Rajesh Jha 'Ahiraj'. 


Hawaii volcano destroys dozens of homes, forces evacuations


Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano destroyed 26 homes and spewed lava hundreds of feet into the air, leaving evacuated residents unsure how long they might be displaced. In revised figures Sunday, Hawaii County officials said another four unspecified structures were covered by lava.
