Nepal-India agree to activate joint committee

KATHMANDU, Aug 14: Minister for Foreign Affairs Sujata Koirala returned home after her five-day visit to India on Friday.



Koirala said she did all the preparatory works for Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal´s India visit that starts on August 18, before returning to the country.



She informed that the two countries have agreed to activate the home secretary level joint committee.



During her talks with Indian counterpart and officials in New Delhi, the Indian side raised the issue of security for Indian investors in Nepal, according to her.



She said that the Dean of Delhi-based Jawaharlal Nehru University announced to establish a trust in the name of Nepali leader BP Koirala and offer scholarship from the trust.
