KATHMANDU, May 16: The Nepal Women's Cricket Team has advanced to the Super 3 stage of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers.
After the match between Hong Kong and Bahrain was canceled due to rain on Friday, both Nepal and Hong Kong had 5 points each. However, Nepal advanced based on having more wins compared to Hong Kong.

Nepal accumulated 5 points from 4 matches, with 2 wins, 1 loss, and 1 no-result. On the other hand, Hong Kong also had 5 points from 4 matches, with 1 win and 3 no-results.
If Hong Kong had won, they would have advanced as the group winner with 6 points. However, Hong Kong was limited to just 1 win.
In the 9-team competition, the top team from each of the three groups advanced to the Super Three stage. After playing against each other, the top two teams from the Super 3 will qualify for the Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier.
Nepal will now play against the stronger teams, UAE and Thailand, in the Super 3 stage.
