KATHMANDU, May 13: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday declined 14.87 points closing at 2,634.23 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,649.11 points and escalated to the day’s high at 2,669.28 points in the opening six minutes, but went downhill and hit the day’s low at 2,633.54 points less than half hour before the trading ended. The market recovered around one point in the remaining period.

Three out of the 13 groups were the gainers, with life insurance adding 127.38 points, followed by development banks, manufacturing and processing. Of the losers, hotels and tourism shed the highest of 151.47 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined 1.41 points. Daily turnover amount declined to Rs 9.63 billion from Rs 10.20 billion on Sunday. The market remained closed with the government declaring a holiday on Monday to mark Buddha Jayanti.
Among the individual companies, 77 were gainers while 168 were recorded as losers. Universal Power Company had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 672.08 million.
Nepal Micro Insurance Company with a decline of 6.22 percent of its market price was recorded as the highest loser. Crest Micro Life Insurance and Om Meghashree Pharmaceutical Limited were the topmost gainers.
