New civil society body unveiled

KATHMANDU, June 8: In a bid to play a role to safe guard the public and national interests through lobbying and pressurizing the political leadership and policy makers, a new civil society organization ‘Citizens Assembly’ has been unveiled amidst a program in capital on Saturday.



The organization led by Dr Ramesh Dhungel is comprised of various public personalities as members including Sugat Ratna Kangsakar, Dr Surendra KC, Ananda Santoshi Rai, Suresh Acharya, Radheshyam Lekali, Laxmi Giri and others .[break]



Unveiling the new body, they said, “After three months’ intense discussions, we have formed a civil society forum with view to pressurize and providing guidance to the state leaderships and policy makers in a bid to keep the national and public interests intact”.
