Newly-elected MPs take oath in 14 languages

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: The newly-elected members of the House of Representatives (HoR) have taken the oath of office and secrecy in 14 different languages.

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: The newly-elected members of the House of Representatives (HoR) have taken the oath of office and secrecy in 14 different languages.



The senior-most member of the HoR, Pashupati SJB Rana, administered the oath of office and secrecy to them at the Federal Parliament Secretariat in New Baneshwar. After signing in the script of both in Nepali and their respective mother tongue, they put the Nepalese logo.

The lawmakers participating in the oath-taking ceremony were seen dressed in different traditional attires. On their very first day in the new parliament, many of them were seen busy taking group photos and selfies after taking the oath.


In the November 20 elections to the HoR and provincial assemblies, 275 members of the HoR were elected.
