NOM to run SAG Information Centre

KATHMANDU, Aug 9: Nepal Olympic Museum (NOM) is all set to establish South Asian Games (SAG) Information Center to collect and disseminate information related to Nepali sports and South Asian Games (SAG).

Issuing a press statement, Chhitij Arun Shrestha, president of the museum, informed that the Information Center will come into operation before the 12th South Asian Games slated for February, next year in India. The office of the Information Center will be at the Nepal Olympic Museum's office, Tripureshwar.

National Sports Council (NSC) has provided Rs 200,000 for first phase preparation of the Information Center while the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) and the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) have promised to extend support for setting up the center.

The information center will also coordinate with South Asian countries, South Asian Olympic Council and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), the release states.
