Office vandalized in Bara

BARA, April 12: A group of people led by former UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker on Thursday evening vandalized the Water Induced Disaster Prevention Division Office (WIDPDO) at Parwanipur VDC of Bara.



According to Ajay Jyaswa, chief of the centre, a group led by former UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker Shiva Chandra Kushwaha manhandled the staffers and vandalized office furniture and documents. [break]



Chief District Officer Thaman Singh Thapa said investigation into the incident is on.



Meanwhile, Maoist cadres on Friday staged protest in front of WIDPDO demanding actions against Dilip Sah, an engineer at the division office, for allegedly awarding the river embankment contract worth Rs 1.5 million to consumer group without following due procedures.
