BUTWAL, Sept 17: A young man, who had been staying at a quarantine facility in Rupandehi district, committed suicide on Wednesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Pitambar Pandey,25, from Devdaha Municipality-4, Bhawanipur. He had been quarantined at Janjati Building since September 2 after his return from Indian city of Mumbai. “Pandey hanged himself to death,” said Dipak Mahat, Police Inspector at Khaireni Police Station.

Sources close to the deceased's family, he was under mental stress as there was a delay to receive his COVID-19 test report. Other people who were staying with him at the quarantine facility, tested negative for the virus.
Devdaha Municipality on Thursday said that Pandey’s test report also turned out to be negative.
