According to police, Tyagi was shot dead while he was returning from the funeral of Ganesh Sah aka Abinash Mukti, Dhanusha in-charge of another armed outfit in Tarai.
Police claim that Tyagi’s group opened fire at police patrol at 4:30 a.m. “He was killed in exchange of gunfire after they opened fire on police patrol,” Uma Prasad Chaturbedi, Deputy Superintendent of Police in Dhanusha said. Tyagi received six among 24 bullets fired by police.
Police said they found a socket bomb, a minor explosive, eight rounds of bullets, a book titled Announcement of War Against Nepalis written by Tyagi and a Nepal Army letter pad.
Tyagi’s outfit was involved in a few terrorist activities including firing bullets on Mahottari’s Local Development Officer Krishna Chandra Mishra and Janapur’s businessman Gauri Shankar Sah. The outfit also claimed responsibility of bomb explosion at Dhanusha’s Land Revenue Office and Janakpur Railways.
Meanwhile, Ganesh Sah aka Abinash Mukti succumbed to injuries he sustained during a fight with his villagers. Sah, Dhanusha in-charge of Rajan Group of Tarai Mukti Morcha, died on Tuesday.
