With the endorsement of new ordinance, the size of the new CA will be 601 amending the earlier provision of 491-member CA .
The ordinance has amended the 25-point Presidential decree issued earlier regarding the removal of the constitutional hurdle.[break]
The government had forwarded the ordinance to the president earlier this afternoon following the cabinet approval for amending the constitutional provision on CA strength increasing 491 to 601-member.
The government initiated the move after the High Level Political Committee requested the government to proceed with the CA election even if the dissenting parties remain away from the election process.
