Purushottam Basnet, president of LMC, said that the complex in association with various mobile companies has started SMS service from Wednesday. "Through this service, customers can get price of the mobile phones that they want to buy along with its features," he added.To get MRP and features of mobile phones, one need to type first three letters of the brand, followed by model number after space, and send SMS to 3233. For example, if one needs price of Samsung Galaxy S6, s/he has to type SAM space S6 and SMS it to 3233. Once the SMS is sent, they will immediately get the reply with price and features of the phone.
The customers will be charged Rs 3 per SMS including taxes.
"We initiated this service so that customers do not have to visit different shops to know the price of mobile phones. Customers can know price as well as features of mobile phones by just sending a text," Basnet said, adding, "It will help customers to find out if any shop is charging them higher price."
To begin with, LMC has tied up with 11 brands -- Huwaei, Samsung, Apple, Sony, Micromax, Colors, Gionee, Lava, Videocon, Karbonn and Intex. "We have finalized agreement with 33 mobile phone brands available in Nepal. We will include other brands for our service very soon," he added.
Basnet also said they would allow customs to send SMS free of cost after the Dashain-Tihar festive season. "We are already holding talks with companies to sponsor this SMS service," he added.
Customers can get mobile phones from 40 different brands at LMC which has the capacity to serve around 5,000 customers at a time.
