Priest in Saptari shot dead

LAHAN, Oct 19: The priest of Kabir Baba Temple in Rajakpatti, Bodebarsain Municipality–8, Saptari, was shot dead on Saturday night.


According to Saptari Police spokesperson DSP Dambar Puri, 70-year-old Ramdular Sah was gunned down by an unidentified armed group.

Police said Sah was urinating on the roadside in front of his hut when two bullets were fired from behind. One struck near his navel and exited through his back, killing him instantly.


A police team led by an inspector reached the scene soon after receiving information and began an investigation. The site has been secured, and two bullet casings were recovered.


The assailant fled after the shooting, and search operations are underway. Additional police teams from both the District Police Office, Saptari, and the Area Police Office, Kadarbona, have been deployed for investigation.


Police have intensified checking and surveillance in the border areas for any suspicious movement. The body has been sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for post-mortem examination.
