KATHMANDU, May 8 : Vice Chair of the National Planning Commission Prof Dr Shivaraj Adhikari has emphasized the need to prioritize projects that can be completed immediately.
Speaking at a discussion held Wednesday on the upcoming Fiscal Year (FY)’s annual development program and medium-term expenditure framework as well as the National Project Bank, Adhikari said that projects costing less than Rs 30 million would not be eligible for inclusion in the Project Bank.

“So far, 7,337 projects have been listed in the National Project Bank,” he said, adding that projects lacking both DPRs and entries in the Project Bank are bound to face scrutiny. “Projects without Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) will now be kept under study,” he said.
Officials from various ministries present at the meeting said it was difficult to prepare the medium-term expenditure framework due to budget ceilings.
