SAARC secy gen calls on FM Ghimire

KATHMANDU, March 27: SAARC Secretary General Ahmed Salem on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Minister for Foreign Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire at the latter´s office.



According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the secretary general apprised the foreign minister, inter alia, of the current and important activities of SAARC, including the forthcoming meetings of SAARC Poverty Alleviation Ministers, SAARC Home Ministers, SAARC Council of Ministers as well as the SAARC Summit to be held in Kathmandu. [break]



He also brought to the attention of the foreign minister about the need of a permanent SAARC House in Kathmandu. Minister Ghimire, while appreciating the comprehensive brief, emphasized the need for implementation of past decisions made by various SAARC mechanisms, assured full support of the government in discharging his duties.
