Raut has sustained injuries on his temple and was initially taken to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan for treatment. He was later sent to the Biratnagar Hospital to be attended by neurologists.
He was attacked when he was returning home after having closed his shop at 10:30 p.m. on Monday.
