Special Committee to summon parties' heads

KATHMANDU, April 9: The meeting of the special committee on army integration held on Friday has decided to summon chiefs of all political parties representing in the committee.



The committee would apprise them of its works executed so far and future working plans and is scheduled to discuss them in its next meeting to be held on Monday.



The next meeting is expected to discuss the issues that could not be decided yet and present the technical committee’s report on the integration of Maoist combatants, according to Nepali Congress leader Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat, who attended the meeting.



Maoist’s leader Janardan Sharma said discussions on the type of a package to be introduced for army integration would be held only after the submission of the technical committee’s report. He stressed that the army integration issues should be cleared through the political level to take the peace process to its logical conclusion.
