KTM Bike Festival on Sunday
KATHMANDU: Epic Events and Lalitpur District Cycling Association (LDCA) announced to host the Second Kathmandu Bike Festival on Sunday at Gyanodaya International Residential School, Khokana in Lalitpur. Epic Events and LDCA organized a press conference on Thursday and informed that the festival would feature Inter-School Cross Country Mountain Bike Race, Dirt Jump Competition as well as a fun competition called F1 Race.
"Springwood is the sponsor of the cross country event while Kali helmet is the sponsor of dirt jump. The cross country is to inspire young generation for cycling while dirt jump is organized for those who want to show their cycling style," said Nirakar Yakthumba, director of Epic Events. LDCA President Upendra SJB Rana said the event is organized to promote cycling culture as well as to promote as a destination for mountain biking. Nepal Cycling Association Secretary Sanjiv Pandey opined that the festival would help in finding new and talented riders.
Sankata to earn Rs 2.5m in rent
KATHMANDU: CMG Club Sankata on Thursday inaugurated Sankata Bazaar at Sundhara, Kathmandu. The A division outfit will earn a profit of Rs 2.5 million per annum from the 37 shopping stalls it has rented to most of the members of the club. Though the shopping stalls are owned by Nepal Airlines Corporations, the club has taken the shopping stalls on lease for Rs 180,000 per month for a period of five years. Talking to Republica, Sankata President Indraman Tuladhar said the club earns Rs 10 million in income from different sources per annum and is planning to construct its own ground and stadium and start a football academy.
