Teachers, parents concerned after girl students start fainting

DAMAULI, Aug 21: Teachers and parents are worried after the girl students at the Janajukta Shahi Higher Secondary School at Sangey Nepaltar, Byas-6 here started falling unconscious all of a sudden.



It is said that this has been happening at the school since the last three months and has shown no signs of stopping.[break]



This kind of symptom has been repeatedly seen in as many as 11 girl students. On Tuesday, 13 girls fainted all of a sudden in the classroom, the school stated. The girl students complain of headache and nausea before falling unconscious, it is learnt.



A team of physicians from the District Health Office and the National Apollo Hospital examined these girls on August 12 and treated them. The medical team also gave psycho-social counseling to the girls and held interaction with the teachers and parents. The medical team said it was a case of mass hysteria.
