For Binod Tuladhar, Managing Director of Bluebird Mall, functionality takes precedence over everything else when it comes to choosing gadgets. “A no-frills, simple to use, smart technology is what draws me to a product. It could be the reason why I’ve been a huge fan of Apple products,” shares Tuladhar who can’t do without his iPhone.[break]

“From checking emails to weather, to getting the latest quotes from the stock market, my phone is my constant companion.” Tuladhar is a self-confessed gizmoholic, and believes that in a decade or so gadgets will literally control us.

An audiophile as well, he is very particular about sound quality and adores his Bose Home Theater.

“Few can match Bose when it comes to high-end acoustics in a simple packaging. I love their products because it’s very minimalist in design yet delivers a punch, every time.” He added that the speakers were one of the few splurges worth splurging on.

Couple these with a good projector with immersive surround system, throw in Blu Ray or HD video, and you have a perfect recipe for home cinema. However, he does enjoy occasional movie at cinema halls, too. But given a choice, he would rather be at home with family enjoying movies.

“If I’m not too sure about a film, I’d rather watch it at home; at least I can fast forward.”

Another gadget that has gotten him all hooked to is the touch wonder from Apple— iPad. In fact, it did not take him long to switch from laptop to iPad, all credits to its portability.

“It’s light; and since Wi-Fi is everywhere, iPad has become my preferred device of choice during travels.”

On the subject of traveling, and on his trips abroad, Tuladhar makes it a point to visit tech shops to update on the latest technology. He believes that buying the latest and the best money can buy will improve your tech purchases in future.

An iHome’s Bluetooth audio system for iPod, iPhone and iPad – the iA100 – is his recent favorite purchase, and given a choice, he would not mind getting the latest TV by Bose. The innovative VideoWave TV is at the top of his wish list. Tuladhar is also considering getting a Kindle e-book reader for his wife.

“It’s not that expensive and has great battery life, perfect for bookworms,” he concludes.
