22 individuals charged of hacking e-bidding platforms

Cases have been filed against 22 people, including Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Bikram Pandey, on charges of manipulating contract details by gaining unauthorized access to the e-bidding of the Public Procurement Monitoring Office.

KATHMANDU, May 10: Cases have been filed against 22 people, including Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Bikram Pandey, on charges of manipulating contract details by gaining unauthorized access to the e-bidding of the Public Procurement Monitoring Office.



The Government Prosecutor's Office filed the cases against the accused in the Kathmandu District Court, based on the investigation report conducted by the Nepal Police’s Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).

Proprietor of Kalika Construction Bikram Pandey at his 74 is one of the accused grilled in the case. Likewise, Diwakar Deuja (33), a computer operator working in the Dhankuta branch of the Urban and Building Construction Project; Bharat Dhami (25) of Durgathali Rural Municipality-3 in Bajhang; Sanjay Bhatta (39), the owner of Thumka Nirman Sewa Pvt Ltd and a resident of Bandipur in Tanahun; Sagar Katuwal (40), owner of Katuwal Construction and Shiva Ohm Suppliers, and Bhashkar Katuwal (35) of Kathmandu are among the accused.


Likewise, the cases have been filed against Jeevan Kumar Das (62), owner of Gitanjali Construction Duhabi; Anil Shrestha (39), owner of Shivansha Nirman Sewa; Tanka Kumar Shrestha (64), owner of Visan Construction; Amrit Bohora (32), owner of Chapur Nirman Sewa, and Swadesh Pokharel (30), owner of Icon Pvt Ltd.


Prakash Dhungana, owner of Kalpavriksha Builders; Rishikesh Gauli, owner of Ashish Nirman Sewa; Rahul Jung Karki, owner of KBK Construction; Narayan Prasad Sitikhu, owner of Man Construction; Indra Bahadur Bohora, owner of Remit Infrastructure, and Shanta Kumar Shrestha, owner of SK Construction are in the lists.


Niranjan Khanal of Dakshinkali All Over, Krishna Bahadur Khatri of Nandi Construction, Jyoti Subedi of Ashish Nirman, Saroj Dahal of Chapur Nirman and Kalpavriksha and Sujan Adhikari of Rising Peak have also faced the charges. These accused have been charged with the crime of organized trading in intangible currency like crypto, via unauthorized access to electronic means.
