Centrally located at Durbar Marg, Tipsy Lounge and Restro Bar can help you as the right place to be if you’re looking for place rich in neo-classical décor, homely, and can serve you the best cocktails available in town.[break]
In less than a year of its opening, Tipsy has established itself as one of the finest lounges in Kathmandu that offers a huge range of cocktails with a carefully selected menu for a delicious dining experience.
A combined effort of eight friends, Tipsy was opened last December. The partners were tired of finding a proper lounge to celebrate weekends. They were bored looking for a better place to hang out together when they had time to relax. They quickly came up with an idea to open their own lounge collectively. Back then, they had no idea that Tipsy would be an ideal place to other such group of friends who were also going through the same problem of finding a suitable and affordable lounge to be at.
What makes this lounge stand out is that it is the only proper lounge in the Durbar Marg area, which is more popular for family dining with restaurants like Nanglo’s The Bakery Café, Hot Breads, Norling Gazal Restaurant, KFC, Pizza Hut, and The Royal Saino lined up almost together.
As you start to look at the property of the restro bar carefully, it’s hard to believe that the interiors were done in just four months. The whole beauty of the restaurant lies in the lights playing artistically inside the restaurant.
Though the curators of the lounge insist that its designing was done on a trial-and-error basis, the entire work is professional. A lounge remains incomplete without proper lights. Tipsy has noted this detail carefully as there is no space to complain when it comes to dealing with the use of colorful lights professionally.
The main attraction is the dance floor where the floor detects the stepping of people to bring out different light shades.
A lounge is equally incomplete in the absence of music. All worries end here for those whose ears are comfortable to soft music because you will have singer Hemanta Rana singing Sufi numbers to you every Wednesday at Tipsy. And for Saturday evenings, singer Dharmendra Sewan promises to make your monsoon blues go away with his mellifluous voice in Nepali and Hindi songs.
Though the food menu seems quite a small one for those prying for a sea of cuisines, whatever available in the list is still not disappointing. Besides, food becomes secondary at Tipsy when you sit to realize that you can taste more than 400 beverages, 1,000 plus cocktails along with dozens of whisky brands.

If you don’t treat yourself with Tipsy Chicken, Smokey Chicken and Soup Momo, you will be doing a crime to your taste buds. At a main course corner, it’s a must to go for Cocktail Olympia, Chicken Ala Kiev or Hot Garlic Prawn.
For the splendid blends of Kahlua, Bailey’s, crème de menthe, Drambui, Grenadine syrup, Sambuca, and Blue Curacao, Tipsy Tower is the most daring cocktail lounge to go for if you really want to feel the mood of this monsoon.
So, do we have to guess anymore where you’re heading with your mates this TGIF evening? Say cheers!
