MYAGDI, June 24: Transport services on the Beni-Jomsom road that links the famous tourism destinations in Mustang district have resumed from Wednesday.

The road section was disrupted for the direct transport services after a huge landslide fell upon the Kaligandaki River at Ramche VDC-9 of Myagdi district buried the road. The service was started after the track on around 3-kilometre road stretch that was blocked by the landslide debris was opened at Baisari of the VDC, said Chairman of the Myagdi Jeep and Bus Operator Committee Surat KC.

The landslide buried some road sections while some others were eroded by the Kaligandaki River.

The landslide at Baisari buried around one kilometer of the road and the sudden release of the water from the blocked river damaged the road ahead of Baisari, he added.

Normal life in the northern belt of Myagdi and Mustang districts was affected since May 24 after the direct vehicular services were not operated. RSS
