The deceased has been identified as Ravi Pandey. His motorcycle collided with the police van from Area Police Office Jhalari, while he was heading to Jhalari from Dhangadhi.
Pandey was rushed to a hospital in India but died while being treated there. Pillion rider Jagadish Prasad Kalauni was injured in the accident.
Pandey was recently married.
Police said the police van was plying on its own side when the motorcycle plying on the wrong side collided with the van.
Woman found dead
Police recovered a body from Badighat River of Gulmi on Wednesday morning, our correspondent reported.
Rewata Kumari Thapa of Khurga VDC-9 was found dead on the bank of river, police said.
Police were informed by the locals who had gone river to take bath.
