A Parliamentary Party meeting of the UCPN (Maoist) held on Saturday morning deiced to ask the government to bring the national budget, against the traditional one, benefiting the whole Nepali people, UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker Bhakti Pandey told Republica.
To this effect, he further said, a task-force has been formed under the coordination of Parliamentary Party Deputy leader Top Bahadur Rayamajhi in which Chief whip Girirajmani Pokharel, UCPN (Maoist) Secretary Barshaman Pun and lawmaker Janak Raj Joshi are members.
"Nepali Congress and CPN-UML are learnt to be preparing to bring budget to only fit in their programs in the name of earthquake victims," he blamed, adding, "We have decided to pile pressure on the government to bring such a budget which will benefit not only their cadres but the Nepali people as a whole."
The meeting also focused on the need to incorporate national pride projects in the upcoming budget. UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Dr Baburam Bhattarai were not present in the meeting.
