He made such remarks during the door-to-door campaign here in Fikkal as a part of his election campaign at the constituency number-1 of the district this morning.[break]
“We have received reports that UML is a clearly a front runner in majority seats out of 240 constituencies,” Khanal argued, adding, “Our party is set to become the largest party as many rival party leaders and cadres are joining the UML”.
“There is still a month left for the CA elections. During the period, we will intensify the mobilization of cadres to bolster party’s position even in those constituencies where UML is lagging behind,” Khanal added.
Claiming that his party’s main competitor is Nepali Congress in the upcoming elections, Khanal further remarked that the UCPN (Maoist) and the Madhesi parties are lagging behind in the poll race.
On the occasion, Khanal ruled out any prospect of disrupting the upcoming election by any forces.
Khanal is set to visit 15 Village Development Committees of the constituency one by one for the next 16 days.
Khanal won last CA election from the same constituency pocketing 17,655 votes, whereas his nearest rival got 14,000 votes.
Khanal’s main rivals are Himalaya Karmacharya, from Nepali Congress and
Yubakumar Poudel from UCPN (Maoist).
