KATHMANDU, Nov 21: The United States has urged all political parties in Nepal to maintain and uphold a peaceful and democratic election process for both the rounds of parliamentary and provincial elections.
Issuing a statement Monday, US Embassy, Kathmandu said the US is alarmed by the recent attacks on candidates in different places across the country. The statement also said it condemns any attempts to impede the electoral process through the use of violence.

“We call on all sides to maintain and uphold a peaceful and democratic election process for both rounds of upcoming parliamentary and provincial elections,” said the statement.
The US has also called on the security forces to exercise restraint when carrying out their duties.
