Today also marks International Delegate Day. On this day, April 25, 1945, the San Francisco Conference celebrated its first anniversary, intending to restore peace and advance the post-war world order under the rule of law. This conference is also known as the United Nations Conference on International Organization.

The conference paved the way for the establishment of the United Nations. Over two months, 850 representatives from 50 countries participated.

In 2019, the United Nations General Assembly declared April 25 as International Delegate Day to raise awareness of the roles and responsibilities of member states' representatives in the United Nations.
