BAITADI, May 17: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has acknowledged that his party’s alliances with the Nepali Congress (NC) and UML weakened its political standing. Speaking at the Mid-Hill Highway Awareness Campaign in Patan, Baitadi, the former prime minister admitted past mistakes and vowed a renewed focus on the party’s core class base.

“We have returned to our roots after self-reflection and are now committed to launching a new economic revolution,” Dahal said. He cited recent electoral successes, including a by-election victory and strong performances in student union polls, as signs of resurgence.

Dahal also criticized the government for delaying the appointment of the Nepal Rastra Bank governor, calling it a result of “unnecessary political maneuvering.” He accused middlemen of influencing the government, claiming it was “heading in the wrong direction.”
