KATHMANDU, March 6: The price of gold dropped sharply in the domestic market on Friday, falling by Rs 4,200 per tola compared to the previous trading day.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been fixed at Rs 313,400 per tola for Friday.

Earlier on Wednesday, gold had fallen by Rs 11,000 per tola and was traded at Rs 317,600 per tola. The association had not fixed the price on Thursday due to the public holiday for the House of Representatives election.
Silver prices also declined on Friday. The price of silver dropped by Rs 95 per tola and is being traded at Rs 5,445 per tola. On Wednesday, silver was traded at Rs 5,540 per tola.
In the international market, gold is being traded at around $5,121.89 per ounce while silver stands at $84.17 per ounce, slightly down from Thursday’s prices.
