Farmers of Jyamire Kholakhet of Bajung-3, who have been affected by 1 MW PathiKhola Hydro-power Project, are on strike. [break]
According to a local, Samir Malla, the agitation has been launched under a sheer compulsion after Unified Hydro-power didn´t fulfill the agreement to construct a canal.
The hydro-power project was constructed one year ago.
Farmers said the non-compliance to the pact by the hydro-power project forced them to keep their fertile land barren due to lack of irrigation facility.
Farmers have warned of a stern agitation if the canal is not build.
