Inaugurating the eighth district convention of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Dang here on Thursday, Mahara said formation of new Cabinet was delayed due to difference in understanding the deal reached between Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN (UML) Chairman Jhalanath Khanal.
"Emerging dispute on the issues relating to the integration of the People´s Liberation Army (PLA) is the main hurdle for the formation of new Cabinet", he added.
He said that an outlet to the present political imbroglio was not possible until the PLA was accepted as the national force.
Moreover, leader Mahara inaugurated an FNJ building at Ghorahi.
Leader Mahara said a creative pressure from the people was needed to take the country out of the transitional phase.
On the occasion, Chairman of Press Council Nepal, Narayan Prasad Sharma expressed concern over the journalism digressing from its norms and values.
He urged the journalists to carry out their works abiding by the journalist code of conduct introduced by the FNJ.
Lila Saha of National Television, scribe Uday GM and advisor to the FNJ Dang KB Mashal were honored with special journalism prize at the programme.
Similarly, the donors for the construction of the FNJ building were also honored on the occasion.
