JHAPA, April 9: A 54-year-old man, Dudh Kumar Lawati, died on the spot after being struck by lightning in Gauradaha Municipality-5, Balubathan, Jhapa, on Wednesday.
The incident occurred while Lawati was having a meal at his home, as reported by Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka from the District Police Office.

Lawati, originally from Miklajung-3, Arubhote, in Panchthar, had been residing in Jhapa and working as a tenant on the farm of Gomanath Chemjung.
The police have sent the body to Damak Hospital for post-mortem after completing the necessary legal procedures.
