Organizing a press meet at his residence in Sanepa after leaving Baluwatar on Thursday, Bhattarai assured everyone that the prime goal of the CJ-led government was to hold fresh Constituent Assembly (CA) elections in the country.[break]
“I assure you the chief justice-led government is as per the constitutional and legal provisions and consensus among the political parties,” the UCPN (Maoist) vice-chairman said, “The political parties still enjoy power.”
Without divulging further, he cautioned that failing to hold CA elections will invite ‘difficult circumstances’ in the country.

The ex-prime minister flatly blamed the opposition parties for his failures. “The government could not receive full cooperation from the opposition parties,” he added.
Bhattarai admitted that his 18 months and 18 days as the prime minister was a much successful one as he took the peace process to a new height.
He, however, refused to admit that Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (BIPPA) was a blunder. “BIPPA was not a mistake. As we know it well, the country needs more foreign investments,” he said.
Referring to the protests announced by the 22 small and opposition parties, Bhattarai said that was a part being in opposition. “They are doing what opposition should do,” he said, “They have to participate in the elections and can’t evade that.”
