Reportedly dead in road accident, helper Lama found live

DHADING, May 25: Suresh Lama of Hetauda Municipality, who was supposed dead in the road accident that had taken place as a petrol tanker turned turtle at Ghoptebhir of Darechowk VDC-3 in Chitwan district along the Prithvi Highway on Thursday night, has been rescued in an injured condition Friday night.



Lama, one of the two helpers in the tanker, was found, and rescued with the help of locals last night, from some 50 meters away from the accident site in a seriously injured condition.[break]



The tanker (Na 4 Kha 3264) was transporting 20,000 litres of petrol to Kathmandu from Amlekhgunj in Bara district.



The accident took place after the vehicle fell 250 meters off the road into Trishuli River, said police.



The tanker driver Gopal Singh Lama of Hetauda Municipality and helper Prakash Bista of Nibuwatar-6 in Makawanpur district had lost their lives in the accident, Police Inspector Lok Bahadur Gurung said.



The tanker was completely destroyed by the fire and therefore, the police had supposed the death of both the helpers including Lama, but Lama was thrown out of the tanker while it met with the accident, and was rescued, said police.
