Revenue office chief found using stolen jeep

BARA May 7: Surya Prasad Sedhai, the chief at Pathlaiya-based Central Regional Office of the Revenue Investigation Department, has been found riding a stolen jeep. It is a red Scorpio jeep manufactured by Indian automaker Mahindra and bears number plate Ba 4 Cha 5832.



According to Tulasi Gautam, chief of Bagmati Zonal Transport Management Office, the color of the jeep bearing the aforementioned number plate and registered at his office is white and it is a 1995 model.[break]



According to a source, Sedhai is using the stolen 2007 model red Mahendra jeep with the engine no BS74H44197. Sedhai informed that the Ministry of Finance provided him the jeep and said that he is unaware about the jeep´s origin.



The chief district officer of Bara, Durga Pokharel, said anyone using a stolen vehicle is liable to punishment regardless of his position.



Bara superintendent of police, Thakur Prasad Gyawali, echoed said that law does not spare to even the people assuming pubic position if it was proved that they are using stolen vehicles.
