SC moved against fee hike in pvt schools

KATHMANDU, April 11: A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday seeking the court´s intervention in the fee hike announced by private schools across the country.



Advocates Shri Krishna Subedi and Rabin Subedi filed the petition in which the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, education ministry, Private and Boarding Schools Organization Nepal (PABSON) and the National Private and Boarding Schools Association of Nepal (NPABSON), among others, have been made defendants. In August 2012, the apex court had ordered the schools not to hike fees for the next three years. Despite the order, the private schools have fee hike.
