KATHMANDU, June 8: The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) was adjourned on Monday after opposition parties obstructed proceedings, demanding that the Prime Minister Balendra Shah withdraw his statement on the border issue and issue an apology.

Despite Speaker DP Aryal’s appeal to allow the House to proceed, opposition lawmakers stood from their seats and continued their protest, disrupting the session.

CPN-UML Deputy Parliamentary Leader Padma Aryal was later given time to speak, during which she said the Prime Minister had violated diplomatic decorum and his official responsibilities and should appear in Parliament to apologise.

Other opposition parties also insisted that the Prime Minister must respond in the House, maintaining their stance, which led to the adjournment of the session for 15 minutes shortly after it began.
