According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, most Himalayan and hilly areas, including Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, are experiencing generally cloudy conditions, while the Tarai region remains partly cloudy. Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is occurring at a few places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
For today, generally cloudy conditions are expected across the Himalayan region, including Koshi Province, while the remaining hilly areas, including the Madhesh Province, will see partly cloudy skies. Most Tarai areas are expected to remain mainly fair.
A few places in Koshi Province and some hilly and mountainous areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces may receive moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning. Light rain and snowfall are also possible at one or two locations in the remaining Himalayan areas, including Madhesh Province.
The department has also warned that temperatures may rise unexpectedly in some Tarai areas of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Tonight, generally cloudy conditions will persist over the Himalayan region, including Koshi Province, while Madhesh Province and the remaining hilly areas are expected to remain partly cloudy. Most Tarai areas are likely to see mainly clear weather.
A few places in Koshi Province and one or two locations in the hilly and mountainous areas of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces may experience light rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
The department has urged residents of the Tarai regions in the Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces to remain cautious due to the possibility of higher temperatures and to follow weather updates and advisories issued by the department.
