KATHMANDU, March 10: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has taken the lead in the proportional representation (PR) category of the House of Representatives (HoR) elections.
As of Tuesday afternoon, with 10,527,606 votes counted, the RSP has received 5,045,219 votes—accounting for approximately 48 percent of the total. This performance has secured the party 57 seats under PR.

Having already won 125 seats in the direct (first-past-the-post) category, the RSP now holds a total of 182 seats in the lower house.
Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress (NC) has garnered 1,719,641 votes in the PR category, earning 20 seats. Combined with its 18 directly elected seats, the NC is set to have 38 representatives in Parliament.
The CPN-UML, with 1,428,570 PR votes, will gain 16 additional seats, bringing its total to 25. Similarly, the Nepali Communist Party has received 777,359 votes under PR, adding nine seats to its existing eight, for a total of 17 seats in the HoR.
The Shram Sanskriti Party has secured four PR seats with 366,976 votes. Together with its three directly elected seats, the party will have seven representatives in the federal Parliament.
