KATHMANDU, Dec 26: The Election Commission (EC) has finalized a list of 51 types of materials required for the election scheduled for March 5.
According to the EC, the materials include ballot boxes, ballot papers, indelible ink, stamp pads and other essential election supplies. Priority has been given to the use of domestic products, cost efficiency and environmental protection.

Out of the total 51 items, 37 types of materials will be sourced locally. The EC said this approach aims to promote local resources, reduce transportation costs and implement a decentralized supply system.
The remaining 14 types of materials are of a technical nature and will be supplied directly by the EC. Among them, only nine items need to be newly procured.
To ensure smooth election management, the EC has also made public its logistics timeline. It aims to deliver all required election materials to polling centers by February 14.
