Govt issues travel advisory to Nepali nationals against visiting Ukraine

KATHMANDU, May 9: The government has cautioned Nepali citizens from not visiting Ukraine and requested all the Nepalis in Ukraine to leave the country immediately, citing the risk due to ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.



Issuing a travel advisory, the Embassy of Nepal in Berlin, Germany, has urged Nepali citizens to put off their travel plan in Ukraine. "In view of the recent developments in the tension between Russia and Ukraine, Nepali citizens planning to visit Ukraine for any purpose are requested to postpone such visits until further notice," the notice stated. "Furthermore, any Nepali citizen who is in Ukraine is requested to return to Nepal safely and securely as soon as possible."

The Germany-based Nepal’s embassy has also urged Nepali citizens to contact First Secretary of the Embassy, ​​Ranjan Yadav in his mobile number 004917626741207, if they need any assistance.


Despite repeated warnings from the Embassy not to enter Ukraine, citing the difficulty of rescue, the number of Nepalis entering the country on various pretexts has not stopped.


The Nepal’s Embassy in Berlin looks after 10 countries, including Ukraine, Germany, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Vatican City.
