Harmony rally held at Gaur to restore peace

RAUTAHAT, Feb 23: A harmony rally was held at Gaur, Rautahat on Monday morning. 



The rally was organized in a bid to restore peace and goodwill among the people. The security situation here was tense following clashes between two communities some days back. The District Administration Office had lifted the curfew at 6:30 AM today. 


Following the revocation of curfew, people's daily life has turned normal. The market places, vehicular movements and educational institutions also resumed.

The peace march began from Sabgadhaha of Gaur municipality-6 and went through the thoroughfares of Gaur. It was attended by Hindu and Muslim gurus and community leaders, people's representatives and chiefs of the security bodies in the district.


The participants in the rally advocated for peace and harmony. Chief District Officer Dines Sagar Bhusal urged all sides concerned to maintain harmony, tolerance and social amity. He sought cooperation to keep peace and security intact. 


The people are made aware not to run after false rumour and baseless information. 


Earlier, the local administration had continued curfew to tame the conflict that erupted between the Hindu and Muslim communities.
