In the cooperative fraud case, the Kathmandu District Court had on January 15, 2026 ordered Lamichhane’s release on a bail of Rs 600,000. Both Lamichhane and the Office of the Government Attorney had challenged that order at the High Court.
Senior Advocates Sushil Kumar Pant and Surendra Thapa, along with advocate Dr Narayandatta Kandel, argued on Lamichhane’s behalf before the High Court.
The High Court also upheld the order to release Chhabilal Joshi on bail in the same case.
