KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Monsoon winds from the Bay of Bengal have gained momentum, with the low-pressure line hovering close to its average position, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

This afternoon, skies are expected to stay mostly cloudy over Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in the hilly regions, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy conditions. Moderate rain is likely in several areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim, with isolated showers elsewhere. The MFD has also warned of heavy rainfall at one or two spots in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim, and in the Terai belt of Lumbini.
By nightfall, clouds are expected to blanket much of the country. Moderate rain will likely drench many hilly areas and some other regions, while heavy downpours may hit parts of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim, along with the Terai plains of Koshi and Lumbini provinces.
