KATHMANDU, June 14: The dissident faction of the Nepali Congress is set to hold a province level gathering in Biratnagar today.

Organizers announced the event at a press conference on Saturday, saying the gathering aims to build pressure within the party and push for reforms to address organizational weaknesses that emerged after the party's general convention.
According to the organizers, all preparations for the event, scheduled to begin at 11 am on Sunday, have been completed.
Koshi Province Committee General Secretary Bhupendra Rai said senior leaders Shekhar Koirala, Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Bijay Kumar Gachhadar will address the gathering.
The event is expected to draw leading party cadres from all 14 districts of Koshi Province.
Rai said the gathering could become a significant step toward strengthening internal democracy within the party and making its leadership more accountable.
