TORONTO, Feb 22: The Embassy of Nepal in Ottawa, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), organized a promotional event, Nepal Evening, in Toronto from February 19. The event brought together Canadian outbound tour operators, travel partners, and Nepali travel entrepreneurs to explore tourism opportunities and build business partnerships.
The program coincided with the participation of NTB and Nepali private-sector tour companies at the world-renowned Outdoor Adventure Show in Toronto, held from February 20–22 at the International Centre. Nepal Evening provided a platform for networking, business engagement, and collaboration between Nepali and Canadian tourism stakeholders.
In his keynote address, Ambassador of Nepal to Canada, Bharat Raj Paudyal, highlighted that Nepal is “not merely a destination but a transformative experience,” emphasizing the country’s unique combination of natural beauty, adventure, culture, and spirituality. He noted that Nepal, home to Mount Everest and eight of the world’s fourteen 8,000-meter peaks, offers world-class adventure tourism, including trekking, mountaineering, rafting, paragliding, mountain biking, and jungle safaris.

Ambassador Paudyal also highlighted Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites, vibrant festivals, arts, cuisine, and ethnic diversity. He underscored Nepal’s growing recognition for wellness, meditation, spiritual tourism, and its significance as the birthplace of Lord Buddha, a sacred pilgrimage site for Buddhists and Hindus.
He informed participants that air connectivity between Canada and Nepal is convenient through major international hubs, and Canadian travelers benefit from visitor-friendly visa procedures, including visa-on-arrival and electronic travel authorization. He invited Canadian partners to work closely with the Embassy, NTB, and Nepali tour operators to promote Nepal in Canada.
Representatives from NTB and Nepali travel companies presented Nepal’s major tourist attractions, while Canadian travel agencies and tour operators participated in discussions. The event concluded with a networking reception aimed at fostering partnerships and enhancing business ties.
Ambassador Paudyal also visited the Nepali pavilion at the Outdoor Adventure Show, interacting with travel trade entrepreneurs and promoting Nepal’s tourism offerings to Canadian partners.
