KATHMANDU, Nov 18: In the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL), Kathmandu Gorkhas and last edition’s runners-up Sudurpashchim Royals are set to face each other today. Kathmandu will be aiming for its second win, while Sudurpashchim Royals will look to begin their campaign on a positive note. Kathmandu Gorkhas defeated defending champions Janakpur Bolts in the opening match.
Kathmandu Gorkhas is led by Karan KC. His squad includes Bhim Sharki, Mohammad Aadil Alam, Shahab Alam, Ben Charlesworth, Gerhard Erasmus, Dipesh Kandel, Milind Kumar, Rashid Khan, Uttam Thapa Magar (wicketkeeper), Sunny Patel, Jon Simpson (wicketkeeper), Pratik Shrestha, Aakash Tripathi, Tul Bahadur Thapa, Ricardo Vasconcelos (wicketkeeper), Santosh Yadav, and Sonu Devkota.
NPL: Sudurpashchim Royals and Biratnagar Kings to compete today
Sudurpashchim Royals are captained by Dipendra Singh Airee, who also serves as the vice-captain of the national team. His squad includes Binod Bhandari (wicketkeeper), Abinash Bohara, Dipak Bohara (wicketkeeper), Milan Bohara, Josh Brown, Hemant Dhami, Scott Kuggeleijn, Chris Lynn, Ishaan Pandey, Tek Rawat (wicketkeeper), Naren Saud, Harmeet Singh, Aarif Sheikh, Dipendra Thapa (wicketkeeper), and Himmat Mahara.
Kathmandu’s coach is former national team coach Monty Desai, while Sudurpashchim are coached by Jagat Tamata. A total of eight teams are participating in the tournament organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), which began on November 17.
