KATHMANDU, Jan 28: Indian singer Arijit Singh has announced his retirement from playback singing. Taking to social media on Wednesday, Singh shared that he will no longer be taking new assignments as a playback vocalist.
“I want to thank you all for giving me so much love over the years. I am happy to announce that I will not be taking any new playback singing assignments from now on. I am calling it off. It has been a wonderful journey,” he wrote.

During his illustrious career, Arijit delivered numerous all-time hits, including Tum Hi Ho, Channa Mereya, Raabta, Agar Tum Saath Ho, Tera Yaar Hoon Main, Muskurane, and Janam Janam. These songs have made him one of the most loved voices in the music industry.
While the announcement has surprised fans, many are urging Singh to reconsider his decision, expressing hope that the voice behind countless hit songs may one day return to playback singing.
