KATHMANDU, April 14: Traffic Police Inspector Abhay Lama, who was critically injured after being hit by a truck in Tarkeshwar, succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The accident occurred at around 11:15 PM on Sunday at Dandagau of Tarkeshwar Municipality -8. Lama, 32, was riding a motorcycle (Ba Pra 02-029 Pa 9415) from Nepalatar towards Phutung when a truck (Ba Pra 03-001 Kha 1715) coming from the opposite direction struck him.

He was initially rushed to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and later referred to B&B Hospital for further treatment, where he died, according to Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.
Lama was serving at the Human Resource Management Division of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office. A permanent resident of Ramechhap, he had been living in Phutung, Tarakeshwar-7.
He had joined Nepal Police as a constable in 2015 and rose through the ranks via open competition, first becoming an Assistant Sub-Inspector and later an Inspector.
Police have taken the truck driver, 38-year-old Ram Moktan of Manahari-5, Makwanpur, into custody for further investigation.
